ISCC-Certified Scrap Tire Processing Project Sets the Benchmark for Tire Pyrolysis

In a large-scale comprehensive scrap tire utilization center in Shandong, China, an intelligent production line operates quietly. Shredded scrap tires are conveyed into sealed equipment and, through a series of precise pyrolysis reactions, are transformed into high-quality pyrolysis oil, recovered carbon black, and steel wires. This enterprise, recognized for its “Integrated Low-Temperature Pyrolysis Technology and Equipment for Resource Utilization of Waste Rubber and Plastics,” which earned the National Science and Technology Progress Award, is now applying the same advanced technology to scrap tire resource recovery, offering a Chinese solution to the global challenge of “black pollution.”

This is Niutech’s scrap tire pyrolysis project.

Niutech is one of China’s earliest standardized environmental enterprises engaged in the pyrolysis treatment and resource recycling of scrap tires, with over 30 years of expertise in continuous scrap tire pyrolysis technology R&D and equipment application. Its operational project with an annual capacity of 200,000 tons of scrap tire comprehensive utilization, including a first-phase 60,000-ton/year continuous pyrolysis production line, has established the company as one of the earliest scrap tire pyrolysis enterprises to meet environmental, safety, and energy efficiency standards while achieving industrial continuous production.

Niutech’s practices demonstrate globally how the technical value of pyrolysis equipment can be translated into replicable, scalable industrial and ecological value.

Niutech’s technology and integrated equipment have obtained certifications including EU CE, German TÜV, and ATEX explosion-proof certification, while its projects have received ISCC International Sustainability and Carbon Certification. This signifies that its products meet or even exceed the safety, environmental, quality, and carbon reduction standards of developed countries. Leveraging this, Niutech’s equipment has been successfully exported to dozens of countries and regions, including Germany, the United Kingdom, Denmark, Brazil, Hungary, and South Korea, making it one of the few domestic pyrolysis equipment suppliers capable of breaking through international technical barriers. By delivering value-driven Chinese solutions globally, Niutech has established numerous benchmark projects in scrap tire pyrolysis worldwide.

Beyond direct economic benefits, Niutech’s value creation ultimately translates into tangible environmental impact. To date, the application of Niutech’s technology has cumulatively reduced carbon emissions by over 25 million tons, contributing robust “Chinese wisdom” to global waste resource recovery and carbon neutrality goals.

From scrap tire comprehensive utilization solutions and recycling equipment application to pyrolysis treatment and the utilization of pyrolysis products, Niutech has established a complete industrial chain, maximizing the value of scrap tires. As the core component, scrap tire pyrolysis equipment transforms environmental crises into economic opportunities and shifts linear consumption patterns into a circular, sustainable “green engine,” enabling scrap rubber recycling to evolve into a large-scale industrial endeavor. To fully harness this value, it is essential—as demonstrated by Niutech—to overcome industrialization bottlenecks through continuous technological innovation, achieve high-value product applications and energy circularity via industrial chain extension, and actively participate in the entire value creation process through business model innovations such as “equipment + operations,” thereby effectively addressing the global challenge of black pollution.
