The “Hidden Champion” of Rubber Pyrolysis: Niutech Reconstructs the Global Value Chain of “Black Pollution”

Within the grand narrative of the global circular economy and the “dual-carbon” goals, scrap tires are no longer landfilled or incinerated as “black pollution.” Instead, through rubber pyrolysis—a core technology—they are transformed into high-value recovered oil (tire-to-fuel), carbon black, and steel wire, becoming veritable “black gold.” With nearly four decades of technological accumulation and a global footprint, Niutech has quietly emerged as the “hidden champion” in the global scrap tire pyrolysis sector.

I. Technological Moat: Continuous Pyrolysis Technology and the Chinese Solution

In the field of scrap tire pyrolysis, “stable continuous operation” is a widely recognized technological high ground in the industry and the primary measure of a company’s core strength. Niutech has been deeply engaged in tire pyrolysis technology for nearly 40 years. Its self-developed “Key Technology and Equipment for Pyrolysis Resource Recovery of Organic Solid Waste” integrates eight core technologies, including thermal dispersion, gas-tight sealing, and anti-polymerization, successfully solving long-standing industry pain points and achieving a solid product pyrolysis rate exceeding 99%, thereby meeting the goals of harmless treatment, volume reduction, and resource recovery of organic waste. Certified by national authorities as a domestic innovation reaching internationally advanced standards, this technology represents a significant achievement.

More critically, Niutech’s intelligent pyrolysis equipment employs a PLC/DCS automated intelligent control system that monitors and adjusts nearly 20,000 technical parameters in real time, enabling long-term, stable, and continuous operation at a scale of tens of thousands of tons. This capability to “convert waste into energy,” which has transitioned from laboratory research to large-scale industrial application, constitutes Niutech’s most fundamental technological moat.

II. Business Logic: Value Leap from “Selling Equipment” to “Solutions + Operations”

Niutech’s tire pyrolysis technology and equipment offer significant technical advantages: substantially reduced material processing time, lower labor costs, and improved production efficiency, providing the most scientifically sound end-of-life pathway for scrap tires.

Through technological innovation, Niutech continuously enhances the added value of its products. Its self-developed “Complete Technology and Equipment for Activation of Pyrolysis Carbon Black” processes lower-quality pyrolysis carbon black through activation and other steps, transforming it into high-value-added products that can partially replace commercial carbon black, with stable quality that meets the demands of overseas carbon black markets in key performance indicators.

At the business model level, Niutech is actively exploring a dual-drive model of “equipment + operation,” upgrading from an equipment supplier to a comprehensive service provider and establishing a complete industrial chain from tire recycling operations to the application of pyrolysis products. Its self-operated scrap tire pyrolysis project in Shandong has been operating continuously and stably for over 10 years and has been recognized by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology as a demonstration project for the comprehensive utilization of scrap tires in the industry.

III. Project Cases: Spanning the Globe, from Europe to South America

Niutech’s globalization strategy has achieved notable success, with its equipment successfully exported to dozens of countries and regions, including Germany, the United Kingdom, Denmark, Brazil, Hungary, and South Korea, and with multiple benchmark projects operating successfully.

In Europe, Niutech’s benchmark projects are particularly prominent. The successful delivery of the Germany project demonstrates that its equipment meets the stringent environmental and technical performance requirements of both the EU and Germany. The Hungary project has been recognized as an EU demonstration project, with all testing indicators complying with relevant EU requirements and regulations, establishing it as an EU-standard demonstration project.

In Brazil, Niutech’s scrap tire pyrolysis project has an annual processing capacity of 30,000 tons. The recovered carbon black, after processing, is used in industries such as ink and pigments, while the pyrolysis oil is used as fuel. The second phase of this project is currently under preparation, fully demonstrating the reliability and replicability of Niutech’s technology in international markets.

IV. International Certifications: The “Green Passport” to Global Markets

Niutech’s technology and integrated equipment have obtained seven major international certifications, including EU CE, German TÜV, EU ATEX explosion-proof, and ISCC International Sustainability and Carbon Certification, making Niutech the first domestic manufacturer of high-end intelligent continuous pyrolysis equipment capable of simultaneously meeting this comprehensive set of standards.

Niutech’s tire pyrolysis technology achieves a complete value-chain closed loop “from tires to fuel.”

– TDO is the core product of pyrolysis recovery and the primary economic driver of commercial operations. Through refining, TDO can be processed to produce gasoline and diesel products that meet applicable standards.

– Recovered carbon black (rCB), after treatment with Niutech’s activation technology, can partially replace commercial carbon black in tire manufacturing, rubber products, coatings, plastics, and other industries. In the context of carbon neutrality, rCB is increasingly favored by enterprises for its low-carbon and environmentally friendly characteristics.

– Steel wire can be directly sold to steel mills for recycling and smelting.

– Combustible gas, accounting for approximately 8%–10% of the total products, can be recycled to heat the reactor furnace, saving external fuel consumption and achieving energy self-sufficiency in the pyrolysis process.

As the global carbon economy accelerates, the scrap tire pyrolysis industry is facing unprecedented development opportunities. Standing at this historic inflection point, Niutech is building a complete industrial closed loop of “technology R&D + equipment manufacturing + large-scale operation,” driving the industry steadily forward.
